Thai Basil is an annual plant with bright green leaves that tend to purple at the flower tips, and characteristic purple stems. The flavour of Thai basil is that of basil with a hint of aniseed. It is often used in Thai cuisine.
Basil is used in cooking as a delecate flavour to Thai and other Asian cooking. It withstands heat somewhat better than sweet basil and can be used in cooking, but is also lovely used fresh. Bee attracting flowers. Flowers and seeds are also edible. Some basil are used medicinally.
