Description

Echinacea purpurea, or Purple Coneflower, is the most widely grown and garden-friendly echinacea, loved for its bold daisy-like flowers with pink-purple rays and coppery cones. Native to North America, it is a magnet for bees and butterflies and flowers prolifically through summer. In herbal traditions, its roots and aboveground parts have been used to support immune health, though it is considered milder than E. angustifolia. Robust and reliable, E. purpurea tolerates heavier soils and more moisture than other species, making it easy to grow in a range of garden settings. Reaches 80–120cm tall.
