Description
Echinacea angustifolia, commonly called Narrow-leaved Coneflower, is one of the most medicinally esteemed echinacea species, traditionally used by Native American peoples for immune support, wound healing, and general vitality. It forms a clumping perennial with narrow, lance-like leaves and showy daisy-like flowers with purple-pink rays surrounding a raised central cone. The roots of E. angustifolia are especially valued in herbal medicine, considered among the strongest echinacea for immune-modulating action. In the garden, it thrives in sunny, well-drained sites and tolerates drought once established. Plants are smaller and more compact than E. purpurea, generally reaching 30–60cm tall.
