A flowering PERENNIAL growing 50cm with grey leaves that have a densely crinkled surface, and are covered in downy hairs. White flowers are borne in clusters on the upper part of the main stem.
Grows best in the full sun in well-drained soil, and can tolerate nutritionally poor soils.
Leaves are edible and can be used as a tea. Medicinally it is an important herb for home remedies for coughs.

Description

Leaves are used as a seasoning, and being bitter and pungent works well for herb beers or liqueurs. Fresh or dried leaves are infused for a pleasantly flavoured tea
Often used as a domestic remedy for coughs and colds, the plant has many other medicinal actions, including being antiseptic, appetizer and tonic.
It is a valuable pectoral, expectorant and tonic that can be safely used by children. The growing plant is said to repel flies.
