The physical nursery and gates sales table plant stand is also closed over winter and will be up and running in spring 2025 for the 2025/26 growing season.

Salsify : seeds

Salsify is a BIENNIAL growing to 0.6 m with long green straplike leaves and beautiful purple flowers.
Mainly grown as a root vegetable – the young roots can be grated and eaten raw while older roots are best cooked. Also known as vegetable oyster as the taste is reminiscent of oysters. Great medicinal benefit too, especially with regards to gallbladder and liver health.
