Mustard – White

An ANNUAL growing to 60cm. Prefers moist well-drained soil in semi-shade or full sun.
Leaves and seeds are eaten and it has some medicinal uses.
Leaves are eaten raw or cooked and has a hot pungent flavour. WFhite mustard is a commercial spice that is milder than black mustard.
The seed is said to be antibacterial, antifungal, appetizer, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emetic, expectorant, rubefacient and stimulant. Externally used to create mustard “plasters” or added to hot water for a foot treatment.
Can be grown as a green manure.
