Toothache plant ‘Lemon Drop’

Toothache plant is an ANNUAL small, erect plant that bears gold or red-and-gold inflorescences. It prefers well-drained soil in a warm, full-sun position.
Leaves can be used in small amounts and the flower bud eaten is a novelty – having a grassy taste followed by a tingling and numbing sensation.
It has traditional medicinal uses.

Description

Electric Daisy, also known as Jambu, Szechuan Buttons, or Toothache Plant (Acmella oleracea, syn. Spilanthes acmella) is a unique herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae family. The distinctive golden-yellow spherical flower heads contain spilanthol which is known for its electrifying, tingling sensation when eaten. Electric Daisy is used as a culinary herb adding interesting flavour profiles to various foods, and it is also much studies for its medicinal uses and is currently a herb of note.
