Achillea millefolium ‘Summer Pastels’ is a perennial in the daisy (Asteraceae) family that grows to 45–60 cm tall and 40–60 cm wide. It prefers full sun and well-drained soils. It has feathery aromatic foliage with soft pastel flowers in shades of pink, peach, lavender, and cream. ‘Summer Pastels’ is used as a cottage garden and pollinator plant, and its flowers are excellent for fresh or dried arrangements. Hardy in most NZ climates.

Description

Achillea millefolium ‘Summer Pastels’ is a delightful yarrow cultivar mix selected for its wide range of flower colours, including soft pinks, peaches, lavenders, and creamy whites, carried in broad clusters above feathery, aromatic foliage. Flowering prolifically through summer, it grows 45–60 cm tall, forming neat clumps well-suited to perennial borders, meadow-style plantings, and pollinator gardens. Like other yarrows, it tolerates poor soil and dry conditions once established, and is highly attractive to bees, hoverflies, and butterflies. While bred primarily as an ornamental, it still shares the medicinal lineage of yarrow, though the mixed hybridisation makes it less reliable as a strong apothecary herb compared with the wild species.
