Clove Basil, African basil, Wild basil

Basil, Clove (Ocimum gratissimum) also known as African Basil, or Vana Tulsi is a short lived perennial in the Lamiaceae family. It has an upright, shrubby habit with large green leaves and aromatic oils. Basil needs warmth, sun, and fertile free-draining soil.
With its intense clove aroma it is used sparingly in seasoning and teas, and is an excellent traditional medicine for calming, as adaptogen and as immune support. Flowers attract bees.
