Bush basil is an ANNUAL growing to 30cm with a tidy rounded growth habit and tiny, light green leaves. The plant prefers full sun in a moist, but well-drained soil.
Leaves, which are mild in flavour, are used like common basil.
A BULB growing to 30cm. Not frost tender, it prefers well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates alkaline soils and somewhat drought resistant. Garlic chives have strap-shaped leaves and produces many white flowers in a round cluster. Leaves are used fresh or cooked where a mild onion-garlic flavour is needed. Flowers and flower buds can be eaten raw or cooked.
A flowering PERENNIAL plant growing to 1.5m. A rigid stem carries large and toothed leaves thickly woolly on the underside. Yellow flowerheads are up to 5 cm broad. The root is thick, branching and mucilaginous. It grows in almost any moist soil in the full sun or semi-shade.
The leaves somewhat bitter but aromatic and edible. Roots are candied. Used as a warming and tonic herb, it is a well used medicinal herb.

Origanum onites is a PERENNIAL growing 30cm by 60cm. Leaves are slightly bitter compared to oregano or marjoram, but with their strong thyme-like flavour are an acceptable culinary herb. Leaves are used fresh or dried. Has medicinal uses.

A hardy PERENNIAL growing to 60cm tall with a spreading habit. Large ovate leaves are bronze to dark green and it has deep purple-red stems. The flavour is strongly peppermint with a sweet chocolate undertone. Delicious eaten raw in fruit salads, or added as a garnish to fruit salads, cakes etc., it has similar medicinal uses than common peppermint.

Spilanthes acmella, also known as the toothache plant, eyeball plant, Acmella oleracea, paracress, jambu, electric daisy, Szechuan buttons is a tropical herbaceous plant with analgesic properties, traditionally used to alleviate toothaches and oral discomfort. Its vibrant yellow and red inflorescences contain spilanthol compounds, inducing a tingling sensation and enhancing flavor when used in culinary dishes and cocktails.
