Description
‘Treneague’ Chamomile is a special, non-flowering cultivar of Roman Chamomile, bred specifically for lawn and groundcover use. Remaining low (just 5–10 cm high), it spreads to form a dense, evergreen mat of finely divided, apple-scented foliage. Unlike other chamomiles, it rarely flowers, meaning it stays neat and uniform without producing seed. Its soft, springy texture and aromatic scent when stepped on make it a favourite for sensory gardens, paths, and informal lawns where mowing is not desired. It prefers sunny, well-drained sites and thrives in sandy or loamy soils. Though not typically harvested for tea due to lack of flowers, it is highly valued for ornamental and fragrant landscaping.
