An EVERGREEN SHRUB growing to 80cm with aromatic silver-green to green foliage and spikes of lavender-purple flowers, often with a showy extended top bract. Noted for attracting wildlife, especially bees. It grows in most soils, preferring a well-drained soil in full sun. Can grow in alkaline and saline soils.
Leaves, petals and flowering tips are eaten, and medicinally it is a useful household remedy.
