Chives – Common

Chives have hollow stems (or scapes) up to 50cm and tubular leaves that are just slightly shorter than the scapes. The flowers are pale purple, and produced in a dense inflorescence.
Leaves with their mild onion flavour is used in cooking, either fresh, or cooked, or dried. Long history of nutritive healing. -

Flowers and flower buds can be eaten raw or cooked.

Coreopsis – Plains

Altough it is generally grown as an ornamental plant or dye herb, a tea can be made from the whole plant. It has some historic medicinal use.

Coriander

It prefers a moist soil in semi-shaded positions as full sun and dry soil leads to bolting. It is a world-renowned flavouring as a fresh herb – cilantro, or dried spice – coriander seeds. It also has remarkable medicinal qualities.
