Description
The leaves are used as a condiment either fresh or dried, raw or cooked. With a slight peppery flavour, they are stronger in flavour than summer savory. Mostly used in cooked foods, especially well paired with beans.
Similar medicinal actions to summer savory – being a good digestive herb, antiseptic, aromatic, carminative, and mildly expectorant and stomachic. It relieves wasp stings.
The growing plant repels insects.
