It prefers full sun and grows best in well-drained, sandy or gravelly soils. It has silvery, aromatic foliage and long spikes of tubular orange-sunset flowers that are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Agastache ‘Apache Sunset’ is used as a pollinator-friendly cottage garden flower and is excellent as a cut flower. In New Zealand it is hardy to light frosts but may need protection in colder or wetter regions where drainage is poor.

Curry bush

Although highly aromatic, smelling strongly of curry mixes, it is rarely used as a condiment, and when used to flavour cooking, is removed before eating. -
